Overview
Airoli is a planned node of Navi Mumbai, located on the northern edge of the city across Thane Creek from Mulund (Mumbai). Developed by CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) from the 1970s onward, it is part of the broader Navi Mumbai project intended to decongest the island city of Mumbai.
Today Airoli functions primarily as an IT, business, and residential hub. The Airoli Knowledge Park and nearby industrial estates attract a sizable working population, and the node is well connected to both Mumbai and Thane. For most visitors, Airoli is a practical base or a short-stay business destination rather than a leisure hotspot in the traditional sense.
