Launched in 2010 and entering service in 2016, it incorporates new-generation high-bypass turbofan engines and Sharklet wingtip devices to deliver significant fuel and emissions savings over its predecessor.
The A320neo family includes the A319neo, A320neo, and A321neo variants, catering to a range of short- to medium-haul missions. The aircraft competes directly with the Boeing 737 MAX series and has become one of the best-selling commercial aircraft in history.
With its improved aerodynamics, quieter cabin, and reduced operating costs, the A320neo has been embraced by both legacy carriers and low-cost airlines worldwide. It offers operators a choice between CFM International LEAP-1A and Pratt & Whitney PW1100G geared turbofan engines.
