The Shorts SD.360 is a twin-turboprop commuter aircraft developed by Short Brothers of Belfast, Northern Ireland. It entered service in 1982 as a stretched and improved variant of the Shorts 330, accommodating up to 36 passengers in a fixed-undercarriage, slab-sided fuselage design.
The aircraft was primarily aimed at regional and commuter airlines seeking economical operations on short-haul routes. Its straightforward systems and good payload capacity made it popular with smaller carriers, particularly in North America and Europe.
Production ended in the early 1990s, and while many examples have been retired from passenger service, some continue to operate in cargo or utility roles. Shorts Brothers was acquired by Bombardier Aerospace in 1989.
