Metro Batavia

Metro Batavia, operating as Batavia Air, was an Indonesian private airline that provided domestic and international scheduled passenger services. Founded in the early 2000s, the carrier grew to become one of Indonesia's larger low-cost carriers, serving numerous destinations across the Indonesian archipelago and select international routes. The airline operated under the IATA code 7P and ICAO code BTV, with the radio callsign BATAVIA. It was headquartered in Jakarta and used Soekarno-Hatta International Airport as its primary hub. Batavia Air ceased operations in January 2013 after a court declared it bankrupt following a debt dispute with a lessor. The airline's collapse left thousands of passengers stranded and marked one of the more prominent airline failures in Indonesian aviation history.
