Comair

Comair was a regional airline based in the United States that operated as a Delta Connection carrier, providing feeder services to Delta Air Lines' network. Founded in 1977 and headquartered in Erlanger, Kentucky, near Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport, the airline grew to become one of the most prominent regional carriers in the country. The airline operated a fleet primarily composed of Bombardier CRJ regional jets, serving numerous destinations throughout the eastern United States and beyond under the Delta Connection brand. At its peak, Comair was recognized for its reliable service and efficient operations within the regional aviation sector. Comair faced significant financial difficulties in the 2000s, including a costly pilots' strike in 2001 and ongoing economic pressures in the airline industry. The carrier ultimately ceased operations in September 2012 following Delta Air Lines' decision to wind down the subsidiary, marking the end of over three decades of service.
