Condor Flugdienst, commonly known as Condor, is a German leisure airline headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. Founded in 1955, it has grown into one of Germany's most recognized charter and scheduled holiday carriers, offering flights to destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Caribbean. The airline has historically operated as a subsidiary of major German tourism groups, most notably Thomas Cook Group, before undergoing significant restructuring following Thomas Cook's 2019 collapse. Condor secured bridge loans and a new investor to continue operations independently, eventually being acquired by Attestor Capital. Condor primarily serves leisure travelers seeking vacation destinations, partnering with tour operators while also selling seats directly to the public. The airline has undertaken a significant fleet modernization program, introducing new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A320 family aircraft to replace older models.
