Eurowings

Eurowings is a German low-cost airline and a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, operating scheduled and charter flights across Europe and to select long-haul destinations. Founded in its current form in 2011 and significantly expanded through the acquisition of Air Berlin routes in 2017, it has grown into one of Germany's largest carriers by passenger volume. The airline serves dozens of destinations from its primary hubs in Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Cologne/Bonn, and Stuttgart, targeting cost-conscious leisure and business travelers. Its business model focuses on point-to-point routes with unbundled fares, allowing passengers to customize their travel experience. Eurowings absorbed operations from Germanwings in 2015 and took over numerous Air Berlin slots following that carrier's insolvency in 2017, dramatically expanding its network. Despite its low-cost positioning, it benefits from Lufthansa Group's backing, codeshares, and operational support.
