FlyLal, formally known as Lithuanian Airlines (Lietuvos avialinijos), was the flag carrier of Lithuania. Operating under the IATA code TE and ICAO code LIL, the airline served as the country's primary international carrier for much of its history, connecting Vilnius to destinations across Europe and beyond. The airline operated out of Vilnius International Airport, offering scheduled passenger services to major European cities. FlyLal positioned itself as a full-service carrier representing Lithuanian aviation interests on the international stage. FlyLal ceased operations in January 2009 following financial difficulties and bankruptcy proceedings. Its collapse left a significant gap in Lithuania's aviation market, which was subsequently filled by low-cost carriers and regional airlines.
