Sudan Airways

Sudan Airways is the national airline of Sudan, established in 1946 and headquartered in Khartoum. As the flag carrier of the country, it has historically operated domestic routes within Sudan as well as international services to destinations across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. The airline has faced significant operational and financial challenges over the decades, including the impact of international sanctions on Sudan, which restricted its ability to acquire modern aircraft and expand its network. These difficulties have led to a reduced fleet and limited route network compared to its regional peers. Despite ongoing challenges, Sudan Airways continues to serve as a symbol of national aviation and has made efforts to modernize and restore connectivity for Sudanese travelers, particularly following changes in Sudan's political landscape in the late 2010s and early 2020s.
