Yemenia, officially known as Yemen Airways, is the flag carrier of Yemen. Founded in 1961, the airline operates international and domestic routes, serving destinations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and Asia. It is jointly owned by the Yemeni government and Saudi Arabian interests. The airline has faced severe operational challenges due to the ongoing civil war in Yemen that began in 2015, which has drastically reduced its network and fleet utilization. Despite these difficulties, Yemenia has continued limited operations to serve Yemenis traveling abroad and returning home. Yemenia gained international attention following the tragic crash of Yemenia Flight 626 in June 2009 near the Comoros Islands, which killed 152 of the 153 people on board. The airline has historically operated out of Sana'a International Airport, though conflict has disrupted normal hub operations.

Yemenia is the flag carrier of Yemen, based in Sanaa. It operates scheduled domestic and international passenger flights to destinations in Africa and the Middle East out of its hubs at Aden International Airport, and to a lesser extent Seiyun Airport. The company is a state owned partnership between the government of Yemen (51%) and the government of Saudi Arabia (49%).
