Republic Airways

Midwest Airlines was a regional U.S. carrier headquartered in Oak Creek, Wisconsin, known for its high-quality passenger experience and premium-style service on mainline routes. The airline distinguished itself by offering wide, two-by-two leather seating and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies on many flights, earning a devoted customer following and multiple awards for customer satisfaction. Founded as Midwest Express in 1984 as a subsidiary of Kimberly-Clark, the airline rebranded to Midwest Airlines in 2007. Financial difficulties during the late 2000s led to significant restructuring, and the carrier was ultimately acquired by Republic Airways Holdings, which merged its operations into Frontier Airlines by 2011, effectively ending the Midwest Airlines brand. At its peak, Midwest Airlines operated flights from its primary hub at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport to destinations across the continental United States. Despite its relatively small size, it was consistently ranked among the top U.S. airlines for customer service by travel publications.
