Krenzers Airport

Krenzers Airport (98NY) is a small general aviation facility nestled in the Finger Lakes region of western New York, and its dining scene reflects exactly that intimate, community-rooted character. Don't expect a bustling food court or chain restaurants here — instead, the airport operates as a beloved local hub where pilots and visitors alike tend to bring their own provisions or make a short drive into West Bloomfield and the surrounding villages for a proper meal before or after their flights.

The real culinary reward at Krenzers is its proximity to some of upstate New York's finest farm country. A quick trip down Route 65 puts you within reach of family-run diners and seasonal farm stands where you can pick up Finger Lakes wines, locally made cheeses, and freshly baked goods that are absolutely worth loading into your flight bag. The region is apple country through and through, and autumn visits especially reward travelers with cider doughnuts and pressed cider that feel almost mandatory after landing here.

For those lingering at the airport itself, the social atmosphere among the GA community often means someone has coffee brewing in the hangar or a cooler stocked with snacks for the group. It's that kind of place — unpretentious, generous, and deeply tied to its agricultural surroundings. If you're planning a longer stay, the nearby town of Canandaigua, about fifteen minutes north, offers a genuinely lovely main street dining scene with farm-to-table options that showcase everything the Finger Lakes does best.
