Leuchars Station Airfield

Leuchars Station Airfield, known by the ICAO code EGQL, is located near the village of Leuchars in Fife, Scotland. Originally established as a Royal Air Force station, RAF Leuchars had a long and distinguished history as one of the UK's primary air defence bases, operating fast jets including the Tornado F3 and later the Typhoon. In 2015, the RAF station was transferred to the British Army and renamed Leuchars Station, becoming a major army garrison. The airfield retains its infrastructure but is no longer an active RAF operational flying base.
