Lago Buenos Aires (Los Antiguos) Airfield

Lago Buenos Aires Airfield, located near Los Antiguos in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina, is a small general aviation and regional airfield serving the remote Patagonian steppe. The facility supports light aircraft operations and provides air access to an otherwise isolated area bordered by the Andes and the shores of Lago Buenos Aires. Los Antiguos is a small town known for its cherry orchards and mild microclimate relative to the surrounding Patagonian region. The airfield primarily supports private, charter, and occasional government or emergency flights rather than scheduled commercial services. Ground access to the broader region is limited, reflecting the sparse infrastructure typical of remote southern Argentine provinces. The airfield plays a practical role in connecting the community to provincial centers when road travel is lengthy or impractical.
