Tilmouth Airstrip

Tilmouth Airstrip is a small, remote airstrip located near Tilmouth Well in the Northern Territory of Australia, serving the Anmatjere community and surrounding pastoral and Aboriginal lands. It is situated along the Tanami Road, a major outback track connecting Alice Springs to the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The airstrip primarily supports general aviation, charter flights, and essential services to the region, including medical evacuations and supply runs. It is typical of the many bush airstrips scattered across Australia's remote interior that provide a vital lifeline to isolated communities and stations. No scheduled commercial airline services operate from this airstrip. Access to the area by road is challenging, particularly during the wet season when the Tanami Road can become impassable, making air access especially critical.
