Remote airstrip serving the Tiri community in Papua New Guinea.
Location
Tiri, Papua New Guinea
Tiri Airstrip is a small, remote aviation facility located in Papua New Guinea, serving the local community of Tiri. It operates under the ICAO code AYRR and has no assigned IATA code, reflecting its limited role in commercial aviation.
The airstrip is typical of many rural Papua New Guinea facilities, providing essential air access to a community that would otherwise be isolated due to the country's challenging terrain and lack of road infrastructure. Small mission and charter aircraft are the primary users of such strips.
Like many remote airstrips in PNG, Tiri likely supports humanitarian, missionary, and supply operations rather than scheduled commercial passenger services.
