Ljungbyhed Airfield

Ljungbyhed Airfield, located in Skåne County in southern Sweden, is one of the oldest continuously used airfields in the country. It holds significant historical importance as the home of the Swedish Air Force Flying School, which operated there from 1926 until 2002, training generations of military pilots. Following the closure of the military flying school, the airfield transitioned to civilian use and became a hub for general aviation, flight training schools, and skydiving operations. The site has also attracted heritage aviation activities given its rich history. The airfield is relatively small and does not serve scheduled commercial airline traffic. It continues to support light aircraft operations, private flying clubs, and aeronautical education in the region.
