Former Scottish airfield now known as a festival venue.
Location
Kinross, United Kingdom
Balado Airfield is a former military and civilian airfield located near Kinross in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. The site was originally developed as a Royal Air Force station during World War II and later saw use for general aviation activities.
In more recent decades, Balado became widely recognized as the home of the T in the Park music festival, one of Scotland's largest annual outdoor music events, which was held there from 1997 until 2015. The festival use brought the site to national prominence beyond its aviation history.
The airfield is no longer active as a commercial or major general aviation facility, and its current operational status for aviation is minimal. The site has been subject to various redevelopment discussions over the years.
