It serves as the primary general aviation reliever airport for Portland International Airport (PDX) and is one of the busiest airports in the Pacific Northwest by operations count. The airport is owned and operated by the Port of Portland and serves a wide range of general aviation traffic, including private aircraft, flight training, charter operations, and corporate aviation. It does not offer scheduled commercial airline service. Hillsboro Airport is also home to a significant flight training community, with multiple flight schools operating on the field, as well as corporate and business aviation facilities.
