Location
Holuwon, Indonesia
Holuwon Airstrip (ICAO: WAVP) is a small, remote airstrip located in Holuwon, within the Yalimo Regency of Papua province, Indonesia. It serves as a vital access point for surrounding highland communities that are otherwise inaccessible by road.
The airstrip primarily supports mission aviation and humanitarian flights, connecting isolated villages to larger towns and cities in Papua. Aircraft operations are typically conducted by small propeller-driven planes suited to short, unpaved strips in mountainous terrain.
Given its remote location in the central highlands of Papua, the airstrip plays a critical role in delivering supplies, medical aid, and transport to communities that depend entirely on air access.
