Location
Koropun, Indonesia
Koropun Airstrip is a small, remote airstrip located in the highland interior of Papua province, Indonesia. It serves the isolated community of Koropun in the Pegunungan Bintang (Star Mountains) regency, where air transport is the primary means of access due to the absence of road connections.
The airstrip is a short, unpaved strip carved into difficult mountainous terrain and is typically served by light mission aviation aircraft. Organizations such as the Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) and similar operators have historically supported communities in this region, providing essential transportation for people, supplies, and medical services.
Due to its remote location and challenging operating environment, Koropun Airstrip is available only to small propeller-driven aircraft and is not served by scheduled commercial airline services. It plays a vital humanitarian and logistical role for the surrounding population.
