Location
Wyk auf Föhr, Germany
Wyk auf Föhr Airport (IATA: OHR, ICAO: EDXY) is a small regional airport located on the island of Föhr in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. It serves as an important air link for the island, which is otherwise accessible only by ferry from the mainland.
The airport primarily handles general aviation and scheduled regional services, connecting Föhr with destinations such as Hamburg and Sylt. It plays a vital role in providing year-round accessibility for residents, tourists, and medical transport to and from the island.
Given Föhr's status as a popular North Frisian island destination, the airport sees increased traffic during the summer tourist season. Its short runway limits operations to smaller propeller-driven and light aircraft.
