Severomorsk-1 Naval Air Base

Severomorsk-1 is a military naval air base located near the city of Severomorsk in the Murmansk Oblast of northwestern Russia. It serves as a primary aviation facility for the Russian Northern Fleet, supporting maritime patrol, anti-submarine warfare, and other naval aviation operations in the Arctic region. The base is situated on the Kola Peninsula, a strategically vital area that has hosted significant Soviet and Russian military infrastructure since World War II. Its location near the ice-free port of Murmansk makes it an important asset for year-round Arctic operations. As a restricted military installation, Severomorsk-1 is not open to civilian air traffic and has no commercial passenger services. The base operates under the jurisdiction of the Russian Ministry of Defence and the Northern Fleet command.
