Sanandita Airport

Sanandita Airport (ICAO: SLSN) is a small general aviation airstrip located near Sanandita in the Gran Chaco region of southern Bolivia. The area is known for its historical significance in Bolivia's petroleum industry, as Sanandita was one of the early oil-producing sites in the country during the mid-20th century. The airstrip primarily serves light aircraft and small utility flights supporting local communities and any remaining industrial operations in the remote Chaco lowlands. Given its isolated location and sparse population, it sees minimal regular scheduled traffic and has no commercial airline service. The Gran Chaco is a vast, hot, and sparsely populated lowland region shared by Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. Airstrips like Sanandita play an important logistical role in connecting remote settlements that lack adequate road infrastructure.
