Madrid's joint military and civilian general aviation airport.

Opened

Location
Madrid, Spain
Madrid–Torrejón Airport, also known as Torrejón Air Base (Base Aérea de Torrejón), is a dual-use military and civil airport located approximately 20 kilometres northeast of central Madrid, Spain. It serves as one of Spain's primary military air installations and is operated by the Spanish Air Force. The civilian side of the airport primarily handles business aviation, general aviation, cargo operations, and some charter flights, offering an alternative to the heavily trafficked Adolfo Suárez Madrid–Barajas Airport. The airport has also served as an emergency overflow facility for Barajas during periods of disruption. Torrejón Air Base has historically been significant due to its role as a major United States Air Force installation during the Cold War era under NATO basing agreements, before the American military presence was withdrawn in 1992.
Terminals
The airport has limited civilian terminal infrastructure, primarily supporting general aviation, business jets, and cargo rather than scheduled commercial passenger services.
Getting to & from
The airport is accessible by road via the A-2 motorway, and bus connections link Torrejón de Ardoz town with the broader Madrid public transport network.
Airlines here
No major commercial airlines are based or hub at Torrejón; the airport is primarily used by business aviation operators and the Spanish Air Force.
