During mela periods, premium mela camp operators offer family cottage packages with private bathrooms, which are significantly more comfortable than standard camp arrangements. Budget Old City lodges are generally less suitable for families with young children due to noise, crowding, and variable hygiene standards. Dharamshalas near ghats can be an interesting cultural experience for families with older children but typically offer very basic shared facilities.

Allahabad has a significant student and government official population that sustains a modest serviced apartment and monthly rental market, primarily in Civil Lines, Katra, and George Town.
