Airbus A380

The Airbus A380 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jet airliner manufactured by Airbus. It is the largest passenger aircraft ever built, capable of carrying more than 500 passengers in a typical two-class configuration, or up to 853 in an all-economy layout. The aircraft was developed in response to growing demand for high-capacity travel on busy hub-to-hub routes. The A380 entered commercial service in 2007 with Singapore Airlines and quickly became a symbol of modern aviation ambition. Its double-deck layout provides unprecedented cabin space, enabling airlines to offer first-class suites, onboard bars, and showers in premium configurations. Despite its popularity with passengers, the aircraft faced commercial headwinds due to high operating costs and the industry's shift toward smaller, more fuel-efficient twin-engine jets. Airbus announced in 2019 that it would cease production of the A380 by 2021 following a decision by launch customer Emirates to reduce its order. While no longer in production, the aircraft remains in active service with several major carriers worldwide.
