Malaysia Airlines (MH) is the flag carrier of Malaysia, tracing its origins to 1947 when it began operations as Malayan Airways. The airline serves an extensive international and domestic network spanning Asia, Europe, Oceania, and the Middle East from its primary hub at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The carrier operates under Malaysia Airlines Berhad, which was restructured and relaunched in 2015 following two catastrophic tragedies in 2014: the disappearance of flight MH370 and the shooting down of flight MH17 over eastern Ukraine. These events severely impacted the airline's finances and reputation, prompting a major restructuring under Khazanah Nasional, Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund. Despite these challenges, Malaysia Airlines remains a full-service carrier and a member of the oneworld alliance, offering premium services, a loyalty program called Enrich, and codeshare partnerships with numerous global airlines.
