Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is the primary international airport serving Malaysia, located in Sepang, Selangor, approximately 50 kilometres south of Kuala Lumpur city centre. It is one of the busiest airports in Southeast Asia, handling tens of millions of passengers annually and serving as a major regional hub. The airport was designed by Kisho Kurokawa and opened in 1998, replacing the older Subang Airport as Malaysia's main international gateway. Its design incorporates elements of Malaysian Islamic architecture alongside modernist influences, set within a vast forest park environment. KUL is the primary hub for Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia, two of the most prominent carriers in the Asia-Pacific region. The airport complex includes the main terminal (KLIA) and a separate low-cost carrier terminal (klia2), catering to both full-service and budget travellers.

Getting to & from

The KLIA Ekspres rail service connects the airport to KL Sentral station in Kuala Lumpur city centre in approximately 28 minutes, and taxis, buses, and car rental services are also available.
