Cyprus Turkish Airlines (CTA) was the flag carrier of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), serving the Turkish Cypriot community and providing air links between northern Cyprus and Turkey. The airline operated under the IATA code YK and was closely associated with the politically unrecognized TRNC, meaning its flights were not recognized by ICAO-registered international aviation authorities outside of Turkey. The airline primarily operated routes between Ercan International Airport in northern Cyprus and various airports in Turkey, including Istanbul and Ankara. Due to the international isolation of northern Cyprus, the carrier faced significant operational constraints and was unable to operate internationally recognized scheduled services beyond Turkey. Cyprus Turkish Airlines ceased operations in 2010, having struggled with financial difficulties and competition from other carriers serving the Ercan route. Its services were subsequently absorbed or replaced by other Turkish and TRNC-affiliated carriers.
