Royal Air Cambodge was the national airline of Cambodia, established as a joint venture between the Cambodian government and Malaysia Airlines. It operated scheduled international and domestic services connecting Phnom Penh and Siem Reap with regional destinations across Southeast Asia. The airline faced persistent financial difficulties throughout its existence, struggling with low passenger loads, high operating costs, and management challenges. Malaysia Airlines held a significant stake and provided operational expertise, but the partnership ultimately could not sustain the carrier's viability. Royal Air Cambodge ceased operations in 2001 after the Cambodian government and Malaysia Airlines were unable to resolve the airline's mounting debts and financial losses. Its collapse left Cambodia without a national carrier until subsequent efforts to establish successor airlines.
