Air Pacific was the national airline of Fiji, operating international and regional services across the Pacific and beyond. Founded in 1951 as Fiji Airways, the carrier rebranded to Air Pacific in 1971 following a restructuring of ownership and operations. The airline was majority owned by the Fijian government, with Qantas holding a significant minority stake for many decades. Air Pacific served destinations across Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Japan, and various Pacific island nations, positioning Nadi International Airport as its primary hub. The airline played a central role in Fiji's tourism and economic connectivity. In 2013, Air Pacific rebranded once again to Fiji Airways, returning to the name of its founding predecessor.
