Bakalalan Airport

Bakalalan Airport (IATA: BKM, ICAO: WBGQ) is a small rural airstrip located in Bakalalan, a remote highland community in the Lawas Division of Sarawak, Malaysia. The airport serves as a vital lifeline for the surrounding indigenous communities, particularly the Lun Bawang people, who rely on air transport due to the lack of paved road connections to the area. The airstrip is situated at an elevation in the Kelabit Highlands region and operates with limited infrastructure, handling only small propeller-driven aircraft. Malaysia Airlines subsidiary MASWings operates scheduled services to and from Bakalalan, connecting the community to larger centers such as Miri and Lawas.
