Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport

Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport (IATA: CAY, ICAO: SOCA) is the principal international airport serving French Guiana, an overseas region of France located on the northeastern coast of South America. It is situated in the commune of Matoury, approximately 16 kilometres southwest of Cayenne, the regional capital. The airport is named in honour of Félix Eboué, a native of French Guiana who served as a prominent French colonial administrator and was the first Black governor of a French colony. The facility handles the majority of passenger and cargo traffic entering and leaving the territory, connecting it primarily to metropolitan France and neighbouring countries. As an overseas French territory, French Guiana uses the euro and its airport operates under French aviation regulations overseen by the Direction Générale de l'Aviation Civile (DGAC). The airport also supports traffic related to the nearby Guiana Space Centre at Kourou, which is the primary launch site for the European Space Agency.
