Belbek Airport, designated with IATA code UKS and ICAO code UKFB, is located approximately 12 kilometers north of Sevastopol in Crimea. It has historically served as both a military air base and a limited commercial airport, with civilian operations beginning in the early 2010s to provide air access to the Sevastopol area. Following Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, the airport's status became internationally disputed. Ukraine and most of the international community still designate it as Ukrainian territory, while Russian authorities have administered and operated the facility since annexation. Commercial flights under Russian administration have operated to mainland Russian cities. The airport's civilian terminal capacity has always been modest compared to Simferopol International Airport, the main hub for the Crimean peninsula. Military use of the Belbek base has continued alongside any civilian operations.
