Arkia Israel Airlines

Arkia Israeli Airlines is Israel's second-largest airline, founded in 1950 and headquartered in Tel Aviv. The carrier operates scheduled domestic services within Israel as well as international charter and scheduled flights to destinations across Europe and the Mediterranean. Arkia has historically served as a key domestic carrier connecting Tel Aviv's Sde Dov Airport (now closed) and Ben Gurion International Airport with regional airports such as Haifa, Eilat, and others. Following the closure of Sde Dov Airport in 2019, the airline shifted its focus more heavily toward international leisure routes. The airline is privately owned and has undergone several ownership changes and restructuring efforts over the decades. It competes primarily with El Al and Israir on both domestic and short-haul international routes.
