Grupo TACA

Grupo TACA was a major Central American airline group headquartered in San José, Costa Rica, formed through the consolidation of several regional carriers including TACA International Airlines, Lacsa, Aviateca, Isleña Airlines, and others. The group operated as a unified brand across Central America, offering connections throughout the Americas and to select international destinations. The airline became one of the dominant carriers in Central America, known for its extensive regional network and codeshare partnerships with major global airlines. It operated a modern fleet and maintained strong customer loyalty across its home markets. In 2013, Grupo TACA merged with Colombian carrier Avianca to form Avianca Holdings, effectively ending the TACA brand as an independent entity. The combined group became one of the largest airline groups in Latin America, operating under the Avianca brand.
