Jorge Chávez International Airport is the busiest airport in Peru and the main hub for air travel in and out of the country. Located in Callao, adjacent to Lima, it serves tens of millions of passengers annually and connects Peru to destinations across the Americas, Europe, and beyond. The airport is operated by Lima Airport Partners (LAP), a private consortium that has managed and developed the facility since 2001. A major expansion project, including a new terminal and second runway, has been underway to significantly increase capacity. Named after Peruvian aviation pioneer Jorge Chávez, who completed the first aerial crossing of the Alps in 1910, the airport handles both international and domestic routes, making it the central node of Peruvian aviation.

Jorge Chávez International Airport is the main international airport serving Lima, the capital of Peru. It is located in Callao, 11 kilometers (6.8 mi) northwest of the Historic Centre of Lima, the nation's capital city, and 17 kilometers (11 mi) from the district of Miraflores. In 2023, the airport served 22,876,785 passengers. Historically, the airport was the hub for Compañía de Aviación Faucett, which was the second oldest airline in the Americas, and Aeroperú, which served as Peru's flag carrier. Now it serves as a hub for many aviation companies. The airport was named after Peruvian aviator Jorge Chávez (1887–1910). It is among the busiest and largest airports in South America and the busiest in Peru.
