Hong Kong Airlines is a full-service carrier based in Hong Kong SAR, operating scheduled passenger and cargo services across Asia, Australia, and select long-haul destinations. Founded in 2006, the airline is majority-owned by HNA Group, a Chinese conglomerate, and operates under the IATA code HX with the ICAO callsign BAUHINIA, named after Hong Kong's iconic floral emblem. The airline has faced significant financial turbulence in recent years, including periods of restructuring and near-collapse tied to the difficulties of its parent company HNA Group. Despite these challenges, Hong Kong Airlines has continued operations and has sought to stabilize its network and fleet. Hong Kong Airlines primarily serves destinations throughout mainland China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific, competing alongside Cathay Pacific in its home market. It maintains its principal operations at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA).
