Orient Thai Airlines

Orient Thai Airlines, formerly known as Orient Express Air, is a Thai low-cost carrier that operated scheduled and charter flights primarily within Thailand and to select international destinations. Founded in 1993, the airline grew to become one of Thailand's notable budget carriers, offering affordable air travel on domestic trunk routes as well as regional international services. The airline operated out of Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok and at various points served routes across Southeast Asia and beyond, including charter flights to destinations in China and other parts of Asia. Orient Thai Airlines faced significant financial difficulties over the years, leading to repeated suspensions of operations and regulatory scrutiny from Thailand's Civil Aviation Authority. By the mid-2010s, Orient Thai Airlines had largely ceased scheduled operations following the revocation or suspension of its operating licenses due to financial and safety compliance issues. The airline's history reflects the challenging competitive environment of the low-cost aviation market in Southeast Asia.
