Volaris

Volaris is a Mexican ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) founded in 2005 and operating scheduled passenger services across Mexico, the United States, Central America, and the Caribbean. The airline follows a unbundled pricing model, offering bare-bones base fares with optional add-ons for baggage, seat selection, and other services. Headquartered in Mexico City, Volaris operates primarily from Mexico's two busiest airports—Mexico City's Benito Juárez International and Guadalajara's Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International—with a focus on underserved routes and stimulating new passenger demand. The carrier has grown to become one of Mexico's largest domestic airlines by passenger volume. Volaris is publicly traded on both the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: VLRS) and the Mexican Stock Exchange (BMV: VOLAR). It is majority-owned by Indigo Partners, a private equity firm specializing in ultra-low-cost aviation, which also holds stakes in carriers such as Wizz Air and Frontier Airlines.
