Airbus A380-800

The Airbus A380-800 is a double-deck, wide-body, four-engine jetliner and the largest commercial passenger aircraft ever built. Developed by Airbus as a response to growing demand for high-capacity travel on busy hub routes, the aircraft features two full-length passenger decks and a maximum seating capacity of up to 853 passengers in an all-economy configuration. The A380 entered commercial service with Singapore Airlines in October 2007 and quickly became a flagship aircraft for many of the world's leading carriers. Its sheer size allows airlines to carry large numbers of passengers on high-demand routes while keeping per-seat operating costs competitive. Despite its technological achievement, the A380 faced commercial challenges as airlines increasingly favored smaller, more fuel-efficient twin-engine jets for point-to-point routes. Airbus announced the end of A380 production in February 2019, with the final delivery made in 2021. The type remains in service with several operators as of the mid-2020s.
