If you're hoping to get a last taste of Bulgaria before heading home, keep an eye out for banitsa — the flaky, feta-filled pastry that Bulgarians treat as a breakfast staple — usually sold warm from glass-fronted heated display cases near the coffee kiosks. A strong espresso alongside it costs next to nothing and tastes surprisingly good. Beyond the Bulgarian touches, the airside food options lean toward familiar international territory: sandwiches, pizza slices, and packaged salads from the larger café-bar near the central departures seating area. It's worth grabbing something before you reach the gate, since selection thins out considerably once you move deeper into the terminal. Prices are reasonable by European airport standards — noticeably cheaper than what you'd pay at a comparable Western hub — so don't be shy about treating yourself to an extra pastry or a cold Zagorka beer for the road.
