Nashville International Airport has quietly become one of the better airports in the country for eating well before you fly. The concourses lean heavily into the city's culinary identity, so you're not stuck choosing between a sad airport burger and a chain sandwich. Local flavor is genuinely woven into the terminal experience, and if you time your arrival right, a meal here can actually feel like part of the Nashville experience rather than an afterthought.
For hot chicken — and really, how could you leave without it — Hattie B's has a landside location that draws lines even from non-travelers, though the airside options in Concourse C let you grab that iconic spicy crunch after security. Yazoo Brewing pours local craft beers alongside solid bar food, perfect for a pre-flight pint. You'll also find Graze, which serves thoughtful Southern-leaning dishes using regional ingredients, and it regularly surprises travelers who expected airport mediocrity. Tennessee whiskey cocktails are never far from hand.
Food courts are spread across the main terminal and the concourses, so you won't find yourself stranded without options no matter your gate. Concourse D tends to have the freshest renovation energy and some of the better quick-service spots. Grab a biscuit from a local vendor in the morning — Nashville does biscuits beautifully — or end your trip with a slice of chess pie if you can find it. The airport genuinely rewards a bit of wandering before you board.
