Thessaloniki Macedonia International Airport (SKG) is the second-busiest airport in Greece and the primary air gateway to the country's second-largest city, Thessaloniki. It serves both domestic routes to Athens and other Greek cities as well as a wide range of international destinations across Europe and beyond. The airport is operated by Fraport Greece, which took over management of 14 Greek regional airports in 2017 under a long-term concession agreement. Since then, significant infrastructure and service upgrades have been undertaken to improve passenger experience and capacity. Located approximately 13 kilometres southeast of Thessaloniki city centre, the airport handles tens of millions of passengers annually and plays a crucial economic role for the broader Macedonia region of northern Greece.
