Overview
Blundell is a low-density residential neighbourhood located in the City of Richmond, British Columbia, roughly midway between the Fraser River to the north and Steveston Highway to the south. It sits on Lulu Island — the same flat, dike-laced island that contains most of Richmond — and shares the area's characteristic reclaimed delta landscape.
With a population of around 18,000 in its immediate area, Blundell is not a tourist destination in the conventional sense. It has no distinct downtown core, landmark attractions, or dedicated visitor infrastructure. Instead, it functions as a calm suburban base that gives travellers easy access to Richmond's well-known food scene, nature trails, and cultural sites, as well as proximity to Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and downtown Vancouver.
Travellers typically pass through or stay in Blundell for practical reasons — convenient accommodation near YVR, family visits, or as a quiet alternative to busier parts of Metro Vancouver. That said, the neighbourhood is pleasant, safe, and well connected by public transit.

Visas and Entry
Canada's entry requirements vary by nationality. For specific visa and Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) information relevant to your passport, check the TravelerPulse Visas section and the official Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) website.
Health and Insurance
British Columbia has excellent medical facilities. Travel health insurance is strongly recommended for international visitors, as provincial health coverage does not extend to non-residents. Confirm your coverage before departure.

Blundell shares Richmond's temperate oceanic climate. Summers (June–August) are warm and relatively dry, with temperatures typically in the low-to-mid 20s °C. Winters are mild but grey and wet, with occasional freezing temperatures. Pack a rain layer regardless of season.

Cantonese dim sum, Shanghainese, Sichuan, Vietnamese, Japanese, and Korean restaurants are all well represented within a short drive.
What to Look For
- Dim sum is a Richmond institution; weekend mornings at well-regarded Cantonese restaurants tend to be busy — arriving early or booking ahead is advisable.
- Aberdeen Centre and Lansdowne Centre areas have dense clusters of Asian eateries and food courts that are popular with locals.
- Steveston Village offers seafood-focused options, including fish and chips and fresh catches from the working fishing harbour (seasonal availability).
Grocery shopping is convenient, with multiple large supermarkets in Richmond including Asian-focused chains carrying a wide range of international products. Blundell's own residential streets have limited standalone restaurants; most dining requires a short drive or transit trip into central Richmond.
