Lviv International Airport, officially named Danylo Halytskyi International Airport, is the primary commercial airport serving Lviv, the largest city in western Ukraine. It is located approximately 6 kilometres west of the city centre and serves both domestic and international routes. The airport underwent significant modernisation ahead of UEFA Euro 2012, which Ukraine co-hosted with Poland, including the construction of a new terminal building. It has historically handled several million passengers per year, though operations have been severely impacted by Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Before the closure of Ukrainian airspace in 2022, Lviv was connected to numerous European destinations, with carriers such as Ryanair, Wizz Air, LOT Polish Airlines, and Ukraine International Airlines operating regular flights.
