Charleston International Airport may be compact, but it punches well above its weight when it comes to local flavor. Past security, you'll find a solid lineup of options that genuinely reflect the Lowcountry spirit rather than the bland chain food you might expect. Grab a seat at Palmetto Grill, the airport's standout spot for regional comfort food, where shrimp and grits and she-crab soup remind you exactly where you are — even if your gate is calling.
For a quick but satisfying bite, Coastal Kitchen offers wraps, salads, and grab-and-go options with locally sourced ingredients that feel fresher than typical airport fare. Coffee lovers should head straight to the Starbucks near the main terminal hub, though the locally curated grab-and-go kiosks nearby stock baked goods from Charleston-area bakeries worth a browse. Whether you're layering flavors before a flight or decompressing after a long trip, the food options here are genuinely thought out with the city's culinary identity in mind.
Don't sleep on the beer selection either — several bars airside stock regional craft brews from beloved South Carolina breweries like Holy City Brewing, giving you a proper Charleston send-off with a cold pint in hand. If you're arriving hungry, the terminal layout is straightforward enough to navigate quickly, so you won't waste precious time hunting for a meal. Think of it less as airport food and more as a warm curtain call on one of America's most delicious cities.
