Cincinnati Northern Kentucky International Airport

Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is a major commercial airport serving the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area, physically located in Hebron, Boone County, Kentucky, just south of the Ohio River. Despite its name suggesting Cincinnati, the airport sits entirely within Kentucky, a distinction that has historically influenced its tax and regulatory environment. The airport has long served as a hub for air cargo operations and was once a major Delta Air Lines hub before the airline significantly reduced its presence following the 2008 financial crisis. DHL Express operates a major North American air hub at CVG, making it one of the busiest cargo airports in the United States. In recent years CVG has experienced a resurgence in passenger traffic, attracting low-cost and ultra-low-cost carriers and modernizing its terminal facilities. Amazon Air also established a significant cargo hub at the airport, further cementing CVG's role as a critical logistics and freight center.
