Gran Canaria Airport

Gran Canaria Airport (IATA: LPA, ICAO: GCLP) is the primary international airport serving Gran Canaria, one of Spain's Canary Islands located off the northwest coast of Africa. It is one of the busiest airports in Spain, handling tens of millions of passengers annually, driven largely by leisure and tourism traffic from across Europe. The airport is operated by Aena, the Spanish public airport operator, and serves as a key hub for inter-island connections as well as long-haul and short-haul international routes. It handles both scheduled and charter flights, with heavy traffic during the winter months when northern Europeans seek the island's warm climate. Situated approximately 18 kilometres south of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, the airport has undergone significant infrastructure investment over the decades to accommodate growing passenger demand, including expanded terminal facilities and improved airside capacity.
